
The goal races are 25, 50, and 100k. Whether you are new to trail running or a bearded ol' trail folkey come rough it up on the rocks and dirt right here in Austin.
Treat yourself to a rewarding challenge - this training is not for the faint of heart. We will be meeting Wednesday evenings at 6pm for a quality workout and Saturday morning at 7am for the long run. The rest of the training for the week will be posted on your online weekly schedule.
Most meetings (but not all) will be on trail. The first 6 weeks will be focused on base building and becoming familiar with routes throughout the Barton Creek Greenbelt. Once daylight savings hits, we will be running Wednesday evenings with headlamps - get ready for some fun!
Three races are included on the schedule to help prepare you for Bandera. The Rogue FAT ASS Trail Series includes two local races(10k &30k) on October 3 and November 21 that we will use as workouts. We will also run the San Antonio Half/Full marathon as a training run on November 14th.
There will be two training/camping trips to Bandera on December 4-5th and 15-16th. These trips are essential to your preparation for the race, as it is important to see and feel the race course terrain. Please plan to make at least one of the Bandera training trips.
All you will need for the first meeting is a handheld water bottle and running shoes. Lets have some fun - are you up for the challenge?
