I coach: The Hot Wings

My name is Stacey Shapiro and I started training with Rogue in 2007 as a triathlete. I had a background in swimming but I was a walk/runner. After one season of triathlons, I started training for half marathons and was hooked! I started running more than walking the more I kept at it. I loved putting in the work, seeing results, traveling with friends to complete races and setting and achieving my goals! My long time goal was to run the Boston Marathon. I finally achieved that goal in 2021! It was such an incredible experience running that course since in 2021 as their first race after COVID. The crowds were amazing and I was just so proud of myself for finally having this opportunity. Currently I have run over 50 half marathons and 24 marathons. I have been a coach with Rogue Running since 2010. I started by coaching Coach to 5K and currently coach Hot Wings Downtown Wednesday evenings with Emily Kozel. My philosophy is anything is possible with hard work and dedication. I believe your experience isn't just the race, but instead the journey getting there. I am so thankful to Rogue for the friendships I have made and the experiences I have been fortunate enough to have! I had the opportunity to be a pacer for the Austin Marathon for three years and I absolutely loved being able to help others reach their goals, too! My favorite race is Revel's Mt. Charleston. I love downhill races! My current half and full marathon PR's are on that course.
